Why dance uniform is important:

There are a number of reasons why having a set uniform is important to our studio and values here at SRDA:

Dance uniform is designed to be a safe and practical outfit for your child to dance in. At SR Dance Academy, our set uniform is breathable and designed to move with your dancer so that they are never uncomfortable. Having a dress code cuts down on distractions in the classroom and most importantly allows the teacher to see a dancer’s alignment and posture in order to make corrections and prevent injury.

A sense of achievement:

Our uniform is progressive and provides students with something to strive for! Our youngest dancers wear yellow skirted leotards and look up to our older Pre-Juniors who wear a separate black leotard and skirt. The next step comes when they move into Junior/Inters where they can wear the yellow and black SRDA branded leotard and, finally, once dancers advance to Seniors they get to choose their own style black leotard. There is always a sense of excitement and pride when children move up an age group and get to wear the next colour!

We pride ourselves on our uniform which offers an important part of dance history, and also plays a role in the dancers’ safety too.
